Q AND A WITH RAMS QB KURT WARNER

Text Size Text Size

HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK YOU WILL PLAY THIS WEEK?: “Hopefully at least a couple of quarters. I haven’t heard yet, Coach hasn’t said much. Again, it depends on how well we play and well we get going. I would guess going in it would be at least two quarters, maybe even starting the third quarter to kind of get that rhythm going. But, I am not sure yet.”

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH WHERE THE OFFENSE IS RIGHT NOW?: “I feel really good and I feel comfortable. The big thing the other night is just getting that game speed. When you started playing things were going a little faster as you got accustomed to it, but as time went along I started seeing things better and things slowed down. I felt a lot more comfortable there towards the end of that first quarter. That is what I wanted to get out of that first regular action that I was going to see was to get back to that game tempo, and I think I got there.”

ON PREPARING TO PLAY SAN DIEGO ON THURSDAY: “It is not so much a preparation thing in the preseason, we are kind of rolling in the basic plays and doing the same basic things over and over. The game planning stuff comes in the regular season when you start getting ready for a particular team and what their tendencies are. Right now we are basically working on our stuff. Whether it is the best thing against San Diego or whoever it may be, that’s not the most important thing. We are trying to fine-tune all of the basics of our offense. That way, when the season comes, the game planning comes into it.”

ON THE PRESEASON: “The big thing is that I never play. When you don’t play much it is hard to get real excited about it. You do more on practice than you do in a game. Once you get into the season it is completely the opposite.”
